My native place is Karwar. Fish is the staple food of Karwar cusine. I grew up eating this fish curry. My Mom makes lovely fish curry and you will be happy to know its just so simple.
Dry masala
Ingredients:
2 tbsp coriander seeds
1/2 tbsp udid dal
1/2 tbsp mustard seeds
1/2 tbsp rice
4-5 bedgi mirchi
Dry roast the above ingredients except mirchi. We usually store the roasted ingredients
Ingredients:
Any type of fish (Surmai, Rawas etc).
1cup of fresh coconut grated
1 onion finely chopped
1/2 tsp turmeric
Grind the dry ingredients, coconut, mirchi with turmeric into fine paste.

Method:
- In a wok add coconut oil, onion.
- Fry till translucent.
- Then add the grinded paste. Salt as per taste.
- When it comes to boil add fish pieces. We usually add the head of the fish as well. It gives a good taste.
- The fish will get cooked in 10 min.
- You can garnish with coriander leaves if you want but not required. Serve with steamed rice.
